Implementation of Religious Moderation Values in East Priangan Higher Education

The notions of extremism and radicalism have penetrated the world education; Public Higher Education is more vulnerable to radical movements due perspective that tends see religious issues in black white. Islamic Religious (Pendidikan Agama Islam—PAI), taught students as a primary subject, an opportunity shape students' attitudes toward moderation next generation. East Priangan has historical burden (heritage) Indonesia ever faced; basis Darul Islam Movement, which Indonesian Army (DI/TII) led by SM. Kartosuryo. study aimed describe analyze implementation values for higher education Priangan, including University Garut, Institute Education, Garut Technology. This uses qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, documentation. results showed efforts PAI lecturers building through understanding methodology teaching, substance curriculum was directed at moderate character, role models lecturers, there were discussion rooms, Qur’anic learning programs, mentoring coaching student activity units, evaluation. Building philosophy effort respect diversity build collective awareness universities Priangan.
